Activists of the region was transferred to Metropolitan Sergius call to support autocephaly in Ukraine.
The public calls of the region Metropolitan of Ternopil and Kremenets Sergius to join in the creation of a Single Local Church. Activists handed over the corresponding letter in the Ternopil diocese, said Misto.
“During the XX century, Ukrainians are in a struggle for autocephaly of the Kyiv metropolis, which for seven centuries was part of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and in 1686, in violation of the canons attached to Moscow, – stated in the text of the appeal. – <…> Turning to You, Lord, asking you to show wisdom, to support the creation of a Ukrainian national Orthodox Church, to be with his people in such a difficult and responsible at the same time historical time”.
The activists wanted to deliver a letter personally to Metropolitan Sergius, but he was not in place, so the treatment gave father Vladimir.
Earlier in Nizhyn eparchy representatives of the local authorities broke into the diocesan room and began to demand to support the autocephaly, and in the Zaporozhye diocese of the Thomas supporters held a rally, shouting slogans aggressive content.
