Religious procession with the Tikhvin icon of the mother of God
In the Russian Orthodox Church held celebrations in honor of the anniversary of the Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God.
In the Yekaterinburg diocese of St. Alexander Nevsky Novo-Tikhvin women’s monastery celebrated 635 anniversary of the Tikhvin icon of the Mother of God, reports the website of the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Hierarchal Liturgy was led by Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Kirill in concelebration of the clergy of the Ekaterinburg Archdiocese and the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad.
To honor the miraculous image of the Queen of Heaven in the Novo-Tikhvin women’s monastery came a few thousand inhabitants and pilgrims from other areas. A not together in the temple and prayed at the Liturgy on the steps of the Cathedral and on the ground in front of him. To give communion to all parishioners, priests went out to them on the street.

After the service there was a procession from the main Shrine of the monastery is the Tikhvin image of the mother of God. This icon is a list of the wonderworking image stored in the Tikhvin monastery in the Leningrad region.
Guests of the festival were waited by a celebratory concert. The symbol of the event was the blue balloon that was in the hands of almost every visitor.
