The leader of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Makarios, Maletić said that does not put forward his candidacy for the presidency of the one Local Church.
The head of the UAOC expressed their intention to support the Challenger, which will offer Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. He said this on air of the program “the First about the main thing” on TV channel “Zik”.
“I am a candidate not to nominate. Support, whom will offer Ecumenical Patriarch”, – said Macarius, Maletić.
As reported by PWC, informed the leader of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Makarios, Maletić said that he refused to comment on speculation leader Filaret Denisenko on the structure of the Local Church in Ukraine. He explained that he considered the folly of holding a unifying Council with no agreed name, Charter and model of a Local Church and added that before to give their own suggestions, he should listen to the proposals of the Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew.
