Program “Forgotten altars” dedicated chapel of the Vorontsov Palace in honor of the Archangel Michael

New edition of “the Forgotten altar”, which tells about the destruction of the temples of Odessa, devoted to the chapel of the Vorontsov Palace in honor of the Archangel Michael.

The program tells about the house Church and the Palace in which lived the family of Novorossiysk and Bessarabian General-Governor count Mikhail Vorontsov, the press service of the Odessa diocese.

“Historic Odessa owes much to this state and military leaders, which strongly contributed to its construction and development (both physical and spiritual). Together with his wife Elizabeth Ksaverevna field-Marshal Vorontsov was promoted to construction and maintenance of a significant number of urban churches and orphanages”, – explained in the diocese.

As reported by the SPM, with the blessing of Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail Agafangel, the diocese and the media group “Glas” working on a media project “the Forgotten altar”, which describes the history of the ruined temples of Odessa. The authors of the program – the priest Konstantin Batuev and ethnographer Alexander Chilli.
