Meeting of the Chairman of the Department for external Church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Hilarion and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Theodoros II
During the meeting with the Patriarch of Alexandria in Cairo, the Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church discussed the Church situation in Ukraine.
Meeting of the Chairman of the Department for external Church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, with the Patriarch of Alexandria took place on 15 November 2018 in Cairo and a meeting with Patriarch of Antioch and all the East John X – 17 November 2018 in Damascus, says “Romfea”.
Reportedly, at the meeting, the Patriarch of Alexandria and Metropolitan Hilarion discussed a wide range of issues affecting international relations and the events connected with the ecclesiastical situation in Ukraine.
On 17 November in the capital of Syria in Damascus, the Metropolitan Hilarion visited the Patriarchate of Antioch, where he met with his Beatitude Patriarch of Antioch and all the East John H. discussed the issues of cooperation between the two churches in the humanitarian and scientific-educational spheres, as well as issues of inter-Orthodox relations.
As reported by PWC, informed his Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of the great city of Alexandria and all Africa Theodore II called on the faithful of the UOC to remain faithful Christians in the canonical Orthodox Church.
