The head of the DECR of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk
Filaret Denisenko as was a schismatic, and so it remains, said the head of the DECR of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev).
The assignment of Filaret Denisenko of new titles is a farce, the head of the DECR of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk. This Hierarch said in comments to the Agency Romfea.
“We Filaret as he was, and remains, a schismatic, – said Metropolitan Hilarion. – This whole farce with the assignment of titles only demonstrates once again how right was the decision of the 1997 excommunication from the Church, recognized by all, without exception, local churches including the Patriarchate of Constantinople. The lions can claim many titles, but the essence remains the same: he was not a Patriarch and is not. And, therefore, is neither Holy nor blessed.”
According to Metropolitan Hilarion, the new name Filaret more discreditied not so much him, how many Patriarch Bartholomew.
“The surprise is not so much what Filaret, inspired by the support of Constantinople, assigns a new title as the this support. Well I thought the counselors Patriarch Bartholomew, who recommended him to defend such odious figures? Not framed whether they thereby their leader?” – asks the Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.
As reported by the SPM, 20 Oct 2018 “Holy Synod” of the UOC-KP was introduced the full and abridged form of the title “Primate” Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyiv Patriarchate. Members of the “Synod” endorsed such full title: “his Holiness and Beatitude (name), Archbishop and Metropolitan of Kiev – Mother of Russian cities, Ukraine, Patriarch of Rus-Ukraine, the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk and Pochaev Laurel father superior”.
