If people change Jesus, we can find a lot of things but lose the most important – eternal salvation, said the Primate of the UOC.

To overcome the difficulties, you need less “PR” and more to pray and do good deeds. About it his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onufry said during the sermon on the day of memory venerable. Kukshi Odessa Holy Dormition monastery Odessa, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.

The Primate drew attention to the fact that we should follow the example of Reverend Kukshi in how to overcome life’s trials and temptations.

According to the Archpastor, we also experienced difficulties “in the modern world, which is committed to the new format, not a special place for Orthodox Christians.”

Metropolitan Onufry said: “impossible purity of faith to pay for this place. If the change in man’s faithfulness to Christ, you can find a lot of things but lose the most important – eternal salvation. Because the Kingdom of heaven do not come in dirty clothes, and the lie is a mess. Man can not occupy high positions, not to be a scholar and a simple peasant or a worker, but the spiritual clothes he needs to be humble and pure, not tainted by lies.”

His Beatitude the Archbishop stressed: “We have to keep Holy the purity of the Orthodox faith and not change it for anything – neither on wealth, nor the promise of freedom”.

He said: in fact free the man who does not sin: “If I am inclined to sin and vices, though, and believe themselves free, actually I am a slave of sin… to freedom can only come from God through repentance”.

To overcome the same difficulties helps not the attainment of an illusory freedom, and intensified prayer and the creation of good neighbor, said the Primate.

“Today it is customary to do: haven’t done anything, and already “promoted”… And need to do good deeds so that “knew not thy left hand what your right hand does” (Matt. 6: 2-4)… the Secret feat should make every Christian, every priest, every monk, because this feat people understand what to do and where to go. And our way is set out in the Holy gospel, and this path is called narrow,” said his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry.

The Primate wished to improve in repentance, prayer and good works, and reminded that good we should give even to those who hate us and insult. “We must love our enemies – then we are children of God and the grace of God will rest on us and will strengthen us in this earthly life and in the world of the future, we will sodomise eternal life”, concluded his Beatitude the Archbishop.

As reported by PWC, September 29, Patriarch of Alexandria, Theodoros II and his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry celebrated the divine Liturgy at the Shrine with the relics of Reverend Kukshi Odessa.
