On the cruiser “Aurora” has reopened the ship to the temple, abolished by the Bolsheviks in 1917, RIA “Novosti”.

The temple in honor of St. Nicholas was restored based on archival photographs and drawings. It is located in the Central part of the ship above the skylight. The iconostasis is a sliding design.

“It was determined the subjects of Church utensils and the necessary accessories. In the Church holidays and weekends on the cruiser will be worship and Liturgy,” – said the press service of the Western military district of the Russian Federation.

“It’s certainly not a parish Church, there can not come all the inhabitants: this temple, located on Board a military unit, ship of the Baltic fleet, told father Alexander Tkachenko, were carried out on the vehicle of worship. – Mainly in the services will participate members of the crew and command of the ship, as well as the students of the Nakhimov naval school”.
