Wave bells ride on Moscow and Moscow region 1030 in honor of the anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.

In celebration of the 1030-th anniversary of the baptism of Rus in all the churches of Moscow and Moscow region will simultaneously ring bells, Interfax reported.

“At 12:15 will be made the bells in all the churches of Moscow and Moscow region, where it is possible, starting from the bell tower of Ivan the Great, – said the press Secretary of Patriarch Kirill’s father, Alexander Volkov. – The overall sound of the bells adds joy to all of us in this anniversary day.”

According to him, this day for the first time in the modern history of the Russian Church, the service will be held not in one of the temples, and on the Kremlin’s Cathedral square, under the open sky. Patriarch Kirill will serve a Liturgy together with the head of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria Patriarch Theodoros, who will come to the celebration.

Earlier, the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church published a letter in connection with the 1030-th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.
