On the official portal of the Moscow Patriarchate patriarhiei opened a sub-site of the “Historical unity of the Russian Orthodox Church.”
Throughout its thousand-year history of the Russian Orthodox Church, despite changing political circumstances and timing of the separation, including two-century period of forced separation from Kyiv Metropolitanate, always aware of themselves as a whole. The statement of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in connection with the infringement of the Patriarchate of Constantinople on the canonical territory of the Russian Church dated October 15, 2018 notes, “After the reunification of the Russian Church in 1686 for more than three centuries no one had any doubt that the Orthodox in Ukraine are the flock of the Russian Church, and not of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. And today, despite the pressure of external anti-clerical forces, this multi-million dollar congregation cherishes the unity of the Church of all Russia and faithful to her.”
A new online resource, located at http://edinstvo.patriarchia.ru contains sections of “Documents”, “Publications”, “news” (in the future, you may receive other sections), which will include materials on the history and modern life of the one Russian Orthodox Church, official documents and authoritative study, the most important articles, interviews, news reports and other materials relating to the topic of the unity of the Russian Church reflecting in particular the perception of the officials and faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate and other local Orthodox Churches attempts to destroy this historical unity.
Currently, the materials on the page are in Russian and Ukrainian languages. In the near future is planned the opening of the English and Greek versions of resources.
