January 14 on the territory of the National Kyiv-Pechersk reserve the building caught fire. As reported in Facebook the Main Department of civil service on emergency situations in Kiev, burning a separate building, which belongs to the monastery complex of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
“Burns inoperative two-storey building, which is provided under reconstruction. It is not on the territory of the monastery, it will close and included into the architectural complex. The roof of the house is burning”, – told the media a press-the Secretary of management of Svetlana Vodolaga.
According to preliminary data, the fire started in one of the rooms on the second floor with subsequent spread of fire to the roof. There were no injuries. “Currently, the fire area is roughly 200 square meters. The place has about 44 persons of staff and 11 units of firefighting and rescue equipment”, – stated in the message on a site of capital management of the SSES.
At the same time, the publication Apostrof reported that burning building refers to the infectious diseases hospital, which borders the monastery.
