Ongoing implementation of the educational program of the Patriarchal Council for culture “Russia – my story”

    

With the blessing of his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill on 28 September 2018 in Sevastopol, on the territory of State historical-archaeological Museum-reserve “Chersonese”, which in the current year, with the support of the Patriarchal Council for culture was held on the complex archaeological and restoration work started a four week cycle of the program “Russia – my story”, which is addressed primarily to students and schoolchildren.

From 29 to 30 September in the newly built pavilion of “Historical cinema centre” by leading Russian scientists: academician of RAS, President of the historical faculty of the MSU S. P. Karpov, head of the Institute of Russian history of RAS Yu. a. Petrov, scientific Director of the Russian military historical society M. Y. Myagkov, and other notable historians, according to the Patriarchal Council for culture.

Staff training and research institutions of Moscow will conduct workshops on the theme “Skills of analysis of historical sources in schools and the jobs of all-Russian Olympiad”.

One of the key activities of the programme will be the presentation of school textbooks on history of Russia and two volumes of “History of Crimea”, which presents the history of the Peninsula from ancient times to the present day. Active participation in the preparation of the publication was attended by scientists from the universities of Genoa and Turin. October 3 they will speak to program participants and tell about this joint work with Russian colleagues.

    

The program was developed by the Patriarchal Council for culture and the Foundation for support of the Humanities, “My history” supported by the Ministry of culture of Russia and the Russian military historical society. Research was organized by the Moscow state University imeni M. V. Lomonosova and Institute of Russian history.
