Only three of the three hundred parishes of the diocese of Vinnytsia became the split

These transfers represent approximately 1% of all religious communities of Vinnytsia diocese (284 parishes – according to the same site orthodox.vinnica.ua).

It is worth noting that earlier in an interview with a former Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia shared the observation that “at present, the majority of Vinnytsia diocese apparently does not support the idea of an Autocephalous Church.”

As the head of the press service of Vinnytsia diocese UOC Archpriest Vladimir Puchkov, 20 December was held the diocesan Assembly of the newly formed structure. Invitations were sent to all clergy of the diocese – not only those who supported the “PCU”, but those who remained in the UOC.

However, at a meeting of clergy, in which the first day of his stay in Vinnitsa, December 18, was held by the Archbishop of Vinnitsa and Barsky Barsanuphius, according to the calculations of father, Vladimir, was attended by about 300 priests. The meeting discussed the issues of improvement of diocesan life, which appeared as a result of evasion in the split of the predecessor of Archbishop Varsonofy, Metropolitan Simeon, and some of the clergy of the diocese.

The members of the Synod urged the congregation to pray for the admonition of Bishop Simeon and his return to the bosom of the Church.
