Orthodox diocese of Germany expressed support for the UOC

    

Berlin-the German diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church and the German diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia support the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and pray about its Primate, the episcopate, clergy and faithful children, informs a portal “Orthodox life”. This is stated in the statement of the diocesan councils of the Moscow Patriarchate and ROCOR in Germany, published the results of the joint meeting, held in Munich on 29 November 2018.

“The hierarchs and clergy of both eparchies are expressing full support to his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onufriy, the bishops, the clergy and all the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and offering prayers for the strengthening them in the courageous standing for Truth and unity of the Church in Ukraine. We want to stress that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is Autonomous and independent in all key spheres of its activities. Demonstrative ignoring of the Patriarchate of Constantinople this indisputable fact leads to tragic consequences for the Ukrainian people,” – said in a statement.

The document also notes that the joint meeting supported the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church “on the recognition impossible the further stay in communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople due to the continued anticanonically action from the last.”

“In recent decades, the conciliar unity of Orthodoxy abroad have found visible expression in the joint labors of the bishops of local Churches, United in the Episcopal conference. The actions of the Patriarchate of Constantinople not only make it more difficult to continue such fruitful cooperation, but also put into question the fundamentals of Orthodox catholicity, in particular, the principle of consensus and equality in the Orthodox Diaspora”, – said in a statement.

Orthodox diocese of Germany supported the proposal to convene a pan-Orthodox meetings to develop solutions to overcome the crisis in the Orthodox world.
