Over 250 thousand people visited the exhibition “Treasures of museums of Russia”, which took place from 4 to 25 November in the Central exhibition hall “Manege” in Moscow. It has become one of the most visited exhibitions in the last decade, reported TASS the press service of the exhibition area.

“The exhibition “Treasures of museums of Russia” organized by the Patriarchal Council for culture, visited by over 250 thousand people. The exposition, held within the framework of the XVII Church-public forum “Orthodox Russia – the Day of national unity” with the support of Moscow government and with participation of the project “Russia – My Story”, ROSIZO, the Tretyakov galleries and 50 museums from across the country, was the main cultural event of the fall, and one of the most visited art exhibitions for the last decade,” the report said.

The press service noted that before the last day of work at the “Arena” formed a queue of those wishing to visit the exhibition. “Exhibition halls, working daily from 11:00 to 22:00, was equally full as in the morning, in the evening hours,” added in the “Manege”. The exhibition visitors took part in over 70 events. For this purpose was created a lecture hall, where for 20 days were panel discussions, round tables, workshops, premiere screenings and presentations of cultural projects this year.

The exhibition presents about 280 of the most important masterpieces of the 50 museums in the country, including works of Valentin Serov and Karl Briullov, and the icon “Tenderness” of the Pskov-caves monastery. In the national unity Day the exhibition was visited by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. It was organized by the Patriarchal Council for culture, the State Tretyakov gallery and the State Museum and exhibition center “ROSIZO”.

The exhibition “Treasures of museums of Russia” was a continuation of the series “Russia – My story”. In mid-December opening of the renovated historic Park “Russia – My story” on VDNH, which for several months held a large-scale reconstruction. As a result of reconstruction to the already open exhibition “Rurik”, “the Romanovs”, “the twentieth century. 1914-1945 the years of the great upheaval to a great Victory” will add new halls to be constructed the fourth multimedia exhibition “Russia – My story. 1945-2016”. “The Park will have new play facilities for children and adults, exciting historical quests, multimedia innovations and new design of public areas”, – said the press service.
