Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II noted “the need to refrain from premature judgments” on the question of autocephaly, the official statement of the Church of Georgia.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy said that the Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II hopes for a positive decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church. He said this to journalists after a meeting with Primate of the Georgian Church, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.
“We hope that this complex problem in Ukraine will be resolved positively. The Georgian Orthodox Church, too, has passed a very difficult way to get autocephaly”, – said the speaker.
As noted, in the statement on the official website of the Georgian Patriarchate says that his Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II during a meeting noted “the need to refrain from premature judgments” on the matter.
