In Orthodoxy there is no concept of “Pope”, because everything in the Church is solved by the Cathedral, said the Governor of Svyatogorsk Lavra.

“Bartholomew same Patriarch, like all the Patriarchs, said the Archbishop Arseny. – He is first in honor, first in the service is, no more privileges. We have the Church of the Cathedral, everything is decided collectively. He also arrogated to themselves the right to remove the anathema, to grant autocephaly. Today Bartholomew played in an Orthodox Pope, and a violation of the canons of the Church.”
The Hierarch also said that currently nepominovenie and Eucharistic communion with the Church of Constantinople is not the final break.
“Such measures we go, wanting to draw the attention of universal Orthodoxy for the non-canonical actions. The Constantinople Patriarch is not a Pope in Orthodoxy. We have no such concept, it is not the sole arbiter of the destinies of the “changer” of the canons of the Church. It is only the Cathedrals being solved”, – concluded the Metropolitan Arseny.
Of their privileges in the Phanar said repeatedly. Earlier Patriarch Bartholomew announced that the Patriarchate of Constantinople has the exclusive right in solving the problems of the Orthodox world. According to representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Constantinople Patriarchate is trying to impose the Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic model.
