September 7, 2018 in the hall of the Supreme Church Council of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow under the chairmanship of his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill held a meeting of the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, reports patriarhiei.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the audience with opening remarks.
During the meeting they discussed issues of religious education. A report on the state of master’s programs, and test of graduate work in religious educational institutions were made by the Chairman of the education Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church Archpriest Maxim Kozlov. He also held a detailed discussion on parish youth work, papers were presented by the acting Chairman of the Synodal Department for youth Affairs of the Archpriest Kirill Sladkov and chair, Department of journalism, faculty of communication management of the University V. A. Matonis.
The Supreme Church Council chaired by his Holiness Patriarch included:
- operating Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Varsonofy;
- the Chairman of the Department for external Church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk;

- the Chairman of the Patriarchal Commission for physical culture and sports of the Bishop of the North sea and Umbsky Mitrofan;
