9 September 2018, in Week 15 after Pentecost, his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill performed the rite of great consecration of the Church of the Holy Martyr Tatiana in Kogalym and headed the divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated temple, reports patriarhiei.
His Holiness was consecrated two thrones — upper in honor of the Holy Martyr Tatiana, the bottom — in honor of the Holy Prince Peter and Princess Febronia of Murom.
The Primate of the Russian Church was concelebrated by: Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Varsonofy, Chancellor of the Moscow Patriarchate; Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for external Church relations; Metropolitan Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut Paul; Archbishop Sergiy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Moscow Patriarchate; Bishop of Ugra and Nagaski Photios; Archpriest Nikolay Matviychuk, the Dean of the Nefteyugansk district, rector of the Church of the Holy spirit in the city of Nefteyugansk; Archpriest Sergiy Kravtsov, Dean of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district, cleric of the Church of the Holy virgin in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk; Archpriest Andrew Maruschak, cleric of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow; the clergy of the Khanty-Mansi metropolis.
Praying at the service were mother superior of the pühtitsa Dormition stavropegic convent filareta (Kalacheva), abbess of the convent in honor of the mother of God “Tenderness” in Surgut hegumeness George (Arginine), the older sister of the Patriarchal monastery pühtitsa monastery in Kogalym the nun Xenia (Black).
In the temple was attended by the Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra N. In. Komarov, the head of Kogalym N. N. Fingers, the President of JSC “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov, the General Director of OOO “LUKOIL — Western Siberia” S. A. Kochkurov, benefactors and builders Tatianenko of the temple.
The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the clergy of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Archdiocese under the direction of father Gregory Belyanina.
On the TV channel “Union” was broadcast live worship.
After the augmented litany, his Holiness Patriarch Kirill prayed for peace in Ukraine.
Sermon before communion, said Archpriest Antony Isakov, the Dean of the Surgut district, the Abbot of the temple Martyr St. George in the city of Surgut.
At the end of the Liturgy Metropolitan Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut Paul welcomed the leader and presented His Holiness with vestments and mitre.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed to the congregation with a primatial homily.
Then the Primate of the Russian Church thanked the President of the PJSC LUKOIL V. Y. Alekperov and the company’s leadership for assistance in construction of the temple.
“I would like to Express my special gratitude and sincere joy on the occasion of the completion of the construction of this wonderful temple in the city of Kogalym, — said, in particular, the Patriarch. Five years ago I first visited this place. Asking the Lord about the number of inhabitants in Kogalym and learned that the city is only one Church — yard of the pühtitsa convent, I realized that there was a need to build new churches. When I shared my concerns with Vagit Alekperov, the head forming the oil company, he, like a wise man, immediately said nothing, but then I found out that he started a serious preparation for the construction of the temple of sacred Martyr tatiany at the place which I have chosen. Today we see this magnificent temple is one of the most beautiful among those that I have consecrated recently. Thank You, Mr Alekperov, and deep gratitude.”
Donated by the Primate of the Russian Church passed the Shrine with the relics of the Holy Martyr Barbara and the icon of the Holy great Martyr Barbara; the Khanty-Mansiysk eparchy — 15 altar of the Gospels. In gratitude for the works of his Holiness Patriarch Kirill presented to Metropolitan Khanty-Mansiysk and Surgut Paul Panagia. The believers were given the icon of the Holy Martyr Barbara with a Patriarchal blessing.
In recognition of his assistance in the construction of the temple of sacred Martyr tatiany of the city of Kogalym, his Holiness Patriarch Kirill awarded the President of the PJSC LUKOIL V. Y. Alekperov with the order of Glory and honor III degree.
“With the award of the order of Glory and honor III degree, Alekperov becoming a full cavalier of this Supreme order of the Russian Orthodox Church, his Holiness explained. — Such people in our country are very few. Thank You for the work and God helps You to continue to carry their service for the good of our country and of our people, including believers”.
In his speech Vagit Alekperov thanked His Holiness expressed confidence that “today the staff of our company also received this high award”. Donated by the President of JSC “LUKOIL” has transferred the icon of St. Martyr Barbara.
Also, in recognition of his assistance in the construction of the temple of sacred Martyr tatiany of the city of Kogalym his Holiness gave the Patriarch’s letters to the General Director of OOO “LUKOIL — Western Siberia” Kochkurovo S. The temple of the Holy Martyr Tatiana in Kogalym built at the expense of the Charity Fund “LUKOIL”. The construction of the temple began in September 2014. The project author was the architect Andrei Obolensky, who participated in the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and implemented more than 50 projects temple complexes in Moscow, Moscow suburbs and other regions of Russia. The temple is five-domed, the diameter of the Central dome — 3 meters. Height to cross is 48 meters, total area — more than 2 000 sq. m. In the Church created the conditions for the stay of people with limited mobility. Monumental-decorative painting of the temple of sacred Martyr tatiany performed Tomsk painters in the Serbian-Byzantine style.
