1-2 November 2018 in Moscow will host the II all-Russian (with international participation) scientific conference “Theology in the modern scientific and educational space”, reports the Synodal Department for Church relations with society and the media.
The participants of the Conference will be: the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, rectors and Vice-rectors of Russian Universities, representatives of the RF presidential Administration, RF Government, Federal Assembly, ministries and departments.
The conference will be held at the SS Cyril and Methodius postgraduate and doctoral studies name of saints Cyril and Methodius, National research nuclear University “MEPhI”, universities of the founders of the Scientific-educational theological Association (NOTA) with the support of the Federal bodies of state power and management education, the Interreligious Council of Russia, expert Council on theology of the Higher attestation Commission under the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation, Federal educational-methodical Association on theology, inter-Ministerial coordination group of the Moscow Patriarchate on the teaching of theology in universities.
Regional conference events are held from 1 to 30 November 2018 on the basis of leading universities – members of Scientific-educational theological Association.
In the framework of regional (interregional) and national stages will be held the scientific-theoretical and scientific-practical round tables, seminars, discussion platforms to discuss issues of teaching theology in universities; the formation of theology as a field of knowledge, its meaning for sustainable development of Russia, preservation, consolidation and transmission of traditional cultural and religious and moral values, international cooperation, inter-ethnic and inter-religious dialogue in the context of global challenges; the Association of the development of higher theological education and training of teachers for the teaching of ORKSE and ODKNR in a secondary school; the interaction and complementarity of theology in secular educational space and theology (religious education) in the Church education system (system of training for religious organizations); the relevant points of historical and contemporary international experience theological (religious) education and the place of theology in the structure of scientific knowledge.
