His Beatitude Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, Theodoros II September 27, 2018 addressed the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church after the prayer service of the unity of Orthodoxy in Ukraine in the Odessa Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria called on the faithful of the UOC “to remain faithful to the Orthodox faith, to remain in the canonical Church.”
Patriarch Theodore reminded that the Apostle Peter in the first century saw a torn robe of the Christ, and said, “This robe is already bloodied so many years, so this tunic to keep inside our hearts. Because in the history of the Church were very difficult times, but we believe that in these difficult days in Ukraine has a canonical Church.”
The Patriarch of Alexandria said that the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine Onufry. “The head of the canonical Church in Ukraine — our his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, the blessed man of God, and the true monk,” said the Bishop.
His Beatitude Theodoros remembered that a week ago, visited the Orthodox Church in Poland. In particular, the Archbishop said that “with his Beatitude Metropolitan Savva of signed one document that we are together with the canonical Orthodox Church in Ukraine.”
Finally, the Patriarch of Alexandria said: “We will be together with those who want Orthodox unity, because my love is always with you. Also today we are in Church to say: stay true Christians in the Orthodox Church. Gratitude that you are here! Health, happiness and the Orthodox life! Christ is risen! Christ is risen! Christ is risen!”.
