17 Dec at SKK arena will open “Winter Orthodox exhibition” dedicated to the Russian presence in the Holy Land. In Northern capital there will arrive representatives of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem and nuns of the Gorny convent.
The Central Shrine of the exhibition will be arriving from Jerusalem a rare icon of “the Kiss of the Mother of God”.
The winter Orthodox exhibition in recent years was the Central event of the Orthodox St. Petersburg, which takes place on the eve of Christmas and new year holidays. Every year in early December in the Northern capital representatives of monasteries and temples from all over Russia and from foreign countries: Greece, Israel, Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine. This year the exhibition visitors can get acquainted with the history of more than 70 monasteries and temples, to buy monastery products, interesting Souvenirs and Christmas gifts for family, apply to remote monasteries prayer petitions. In the food Department you can buy farm products, honey, homemade preserves, sweets, pickles for the holiday table, baked goods, natural teas.
Organizers stress that the exhibition and cultural-entertaining program Winter Orthodox exhibition is designed to visit with the whole family. Each day adults with children can participate in free master classes on needlework, round tables, listen to live music, including children’s groups, become the participants of the conversations with well-known Orthodox missionaries, and writers.
The winter Orthodox exhibition will be held from 17 to 23 December in SKK at Ave Yuri Gagarin 8. Working hours: from 11.00 to 20.00.
