Converted to PCU bishops, the President noted “for contributions to the affirmation of spirituality, charity and interfaith harmony”.

President Petro Poroshenko has awarded orders of the banned by the Holy Synod of metropolitans Simeon (Ostacolo) and Alexander (drabinko). A decree of January 13 published by the press service of the head of state.

“To award the order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise IV degree Dastatkova Vladimir Ivanovich (Simeon)”, – stated in the text of the decree. A former Metropolitan of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi Alexander (drabynko) received the same order, but the V degree.

They were worthy of the award “for contribution to the affirmation of spirituality, charity and interfaith harmony, and significant personal contribution in the establishment of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine”, – said in the decree.

Earlier, Poroshenko signed a Decree on awarding “honorable current spiritual mentor” of the newly created ecclesiastical structure “Patriarch” Filaret Denisenko, the title of Hero of Ukraine with presentation of State order.

As reported by the SPM prohibited in the service of the Holy Synod of the UOC Metropolitan Simeon (Shostatsky) and Alexander (drabinko) in the composition of the Ukrainian delegation travelled to Istanbul to participate in a joint worship service, during which the head of the DNC handed the Tomos of autocephaly.
