Poroshenko signed a controversial law on Church RAID

The President has approved the bill of change of jurisdiction for religious communities.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on transition of religious communities from one denomination to another, according to the official website of the President.

The document defines the mechanisms how the community can change the control of religious centers in Ukraine and beyond its borders. The law comes into force from the date of publication.

January 17, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the controversial draft law No. 4128-d, which, according to experts, legitimize Church raiding. Even before its signing by the President across Ukraine intensified wave of seizures of temples and attempts to forcibly transfer the parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in schismatic ptsu.
