78 churches of St. Petersburg diocese selected to participate in the public voting, which will be chosen Orthodox symbol of the city. Each of the temples refers to religious, historical and cultural heritage of the city, is an architectural and spiritual dominant.

From 20 August to 18 November, the Petersburgers and guests of the city will be able to participate in the competition, which will take place in two stages. The first stage is creative, it will be held in the following nominations: photography, painting, video, literary work (prose and poetry). Anyone can upload their work on the project site until October 10. From 10 to 18 October, the jury will sum up competition and will choose the four best works, one in each category. The winners will be awarded prizes. Twelve churches, which receive the highest number uploaded to your page of creative works, will be released in the second stage of the competition.

In the second phase will select one of the twelve temples of the finalists. The vote will take place on November 18. According to its results will be announced Church — the Orthodox symbol of St. Petersburg.

Turning to the history and present associated with temples, we can see the importance they have in our lives.”

Jury member, documentary filmmaker and TV presenter Nika Strizhak, speaking about creative works, emphasized that the participants can realize their creative potential in various categories. “It is essential that all competition was decided with a simple click of the mouse. A person commits a creative act to Express their attitude to this or that temple,” added Nika Strizhak.

Director General of collaboration of the group of companies “the Poster” Kirill Oparin noted the importance of continuity in creating such educational projects and reminded about “Your Holy one” in which Petersburgers and guests of the city were presented the most venerable saints of St. Petersburg. He said that the majority of operators of outdoor advertising, the company which is represented in the city, confirmed the cooperation with the project.

Information partner — TV channel “78”, with which the organizers have created a series of educational video clips on the temples of St. Petersburg. To talk about the shrines and to acquaint with the history of the temples, the TV channel will be the famous St. Petersburg artists, politicians and athletes.
