The man in whose heart dwells the goodness and forgiveness, becomes worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven, said his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry.

He who lives according to the Divine laws, already here on earth, begins to receive the benefits of divine love. This was stated by the Patriarch during his Sunday sermon in the Cathedral of Chernivtsi, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.

His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onufry told the parable of the talents, which was about the merciful king and the evil servant (Matt. 18: 21-35). His Eminence stressed: “This gospel story reminds us that the Kingdom of Heaven must strive every person, but who holds the evil in the middle for misconduct, does not deserve the pardon of God.”

“God created man to be happy in this world, that he was involved in a Blessed life, eternal life, which is decorated with peace, joy and light… And the man who lives according to the Divine laws, do His will, already here on earth, begins to receive the benefits of divine love,” he said.

His Beatitude the Archbishop stressed that the main condition in order to enter the Kingdom of heaven is by receiving forgiveness from God and others for all the wrongs that we commit. However, he added, “forgiveness receives only that person who is filled with desire forgiveness.”

“A man should first ask for forgiveness from one you have wronged, or who wronged him. If we do not forgive, from whom we suffer wrongs, God will not forgive us. Not because God does not want us to forgive, but because people who can’t forgive, full of anger and could not contain the grace which God wants to give. And if a person is filled with love, then he proceeds, first of all, this love,” – said the Primate.

Metropolitan Onufry told about how we should deal with those who we once owed. He recalled an important spiritual law: “the man who shows mercy to another, God will give even more wealth than he had to. A man who does alms, reveals himself to the mercy of God.”

The Primate encouraged everyone to try to love, forgive the neighbor and doing good to people. “Of course, it’s not easy. But the man in whose heart dwells the goodness and forgiveness, becomes worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven”, he concluded.

Earlier his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onufry said that there are no “black” and “white” envy, any envy is directed against another and it is necessary to get rid of.
