With the blessing of his Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill in the period from 1 October to 27 November, the St. Andrew’s Fund will take one of the main Crimean relics, relics of the Holy Hierarch Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky), Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Nizhniy Novgorod, Vladimir, Kaluga, Smolensk, Bryansk, Orel, Kursk, Lipetsk, Tambov, Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad.
First the ark with relics of St. Luke will leave for such a long period of Simferopol and will visit 17 cities in Russia.
St Luke is one of the most revered saints in the twentieth century. Because St. Luke Voyno-Yasenetsky earthly life he helped people a lot as a physician and surgeon, the believers turn to him with requests for assistance in various illnesses and infirmities. There is ample evidence of the care of the Saint.
The Director of the St. Andrew Foundation Vladimir Bushuev: “in the Spring of 2018, the Foundation of St. Andrew brought the relics of St. Luke to Moscow. Previously, we organized the bringing of the relics in Greece. For several years we have received requests from different regions of Russia to bring back the ark with the relics of the great Saint. We received the blessing of his Holiness Patriarch Kirill and in October-November 2018 to realize the dreams of many thousands of believers in need of prayer intercession of the Saint”.
It is planned that in some regions by the decision of local bishops of the ark with relics of St. Luke will be delivered to the cancer hospital and dispensaries.
On behalf of the Fund of St. Andrew on the artistic enterprise “Sofrino” is made of 500 000 icons of St. Luke, Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea, which will be distributed as a blessing to all who came to venerate the relics of the Saint.
