ROCA supported the decision of the Russian Church taken in response to the actions Fanara in Ukraine

    

In connection with the recent events associated with the direction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople their exarchs on the canonical territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Synod of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia has suspended the concelebration with the hierarchs of the KPC and participation in the work of the Episcopal assemblies, reports the portal “Orthodox life”.

This is stated in the decrees of the Synod of bishops of the ROCOR, held under the chairmanship of Metropolitan of Eastern America and new York Hilarion, 20 September 2018 in London, reports Synod.com.

“Following the decision of the Supreme authority of the Russian Orthodox Church to suspend the concelebration at the Episcopal level with the Constantinople Orthodox Church and the participation of the Russian Church Abroad unto the work of the Episcopal Assembly, on chem to issue a circular decree,” said the Synod.

During the meeting, the Archbishop of Chicago and Mid-America Peter spoke about his recent meeting with his Beatitude Patriarch of Jerusalem and all Palestine Theophilos III. According to him, the Patriarch expressed his surprise at the direction of the canonical territory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the exarchs of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
