Almost daily in the media there is biased information about the Pochaev Lavra, which is the pressure on the people and compromised the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and which is associated with the ordering of certain politicians and attempt to create the so-called “one national Church”. This was the official statement said the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.
Special attention is paid to news about the “protection of the Pochaiv monastery from the encroachments of the Russian Church” and a criminal case about legality of transfer of buildings of the monastery.
“Information is deliberately distorted to create a psychological pressure on the minds of people, sows distrust of the Orthodox Church and faith, sowing enmity between the people and inter-religious conflict”, — emphasized in circulation.
In his address the brethren of the Pochaev Lavra also noted that the “battles” around the monastery turned “with kaleidoscopic rapidity, starting from the moment when the Kremenets state historic architectural reserve wanted to register religious buildings, which were selected by the Soviet authorities in 1962, and declared a state property.”
Then, recalled to the monastery, “all attempts of the reserve failed”, since the construction was removed from the reserve by decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 483 of July 17, 2003 and was a contract between the state construction Committee of Ukraine and the Pochaev monastery.
However, having been refused registration, the Ministry of culture of Ukraine appealed to the Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine on the transfer test Lavra structures for free use. And the Prosecutor’s office opened two criminal cases against State registrars. One Registrar, the appeal says, has registered the agreement on transfer of the state construction Committee of Ukraine for free use of the buildings of the Pochayiv Lavra (2003), and the second, the Registrar refused to reserve registration of rights to the assumption Cathedral, Trinity Cathedral, bell tower, Bishop’s house, the Holy gate and communal cells.
As a result, the so-called “activists” are going in Ternopil, to “prevent the transfer of the buildings of the Pochayiv monastery”. “Nobody wants to know that the building in question is declared property of the state and no one but the state, they are not owned and not in control of it,” notes the brethren of the monastery.
“Such actions of the power structures suggests that everything is connected with the order of certain political forces and attempt to create a unified national Church, and in fact destroyed the canonical Orthodox Church and the Apostolic faith of Ukraine”, — summed up in the Pochaev Lavra and encourage customers to stop their actions, and people — not to respond to provocations and to pray for peace.
