His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onufry
Metropolitan Onufry has sufficient authority to consolidate the Orthodox people of Ukraine, believe in the ROC.
The faithful of the UOC today we should rally around his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry. On 13 September, Interfax was told by the Secretary for interorthodox relations of the DECR of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk.
According to him, the Primate of the UOC has sufficient authority throughout the Orthodox world.
“At the head of the Ukrainian Church is an amazing person who has high spiritual authority throughout the Orthodox world, – said the priest of the Russian Orthodox Church. Around him, around bishops and priests of today should unite: if there is a consolidation of the Orthodox people, there is a chance to survive. In unity – strength of Orthodoxy.”
“To keep their Primate” last week, the Orthodox of Ukraine urged his Beatitude Patriarch of the Holy city of Jerusalem and all Palestine Theophilos III. During a meeting with a delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Jerusalem, he said that he was praying for “brother of his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry and the long-suffering people of Ukraine.”
