3 October 2018 at the press center of TASS held a press-conference dedicated to the presentation of the Federal project “Shrines of Russia”, implemented by the Federal Agency for tourism together with the Public Council under the Federal tourism Agency, and the eponymous television program on the channel “Spas”, which was held within the framework of this project.
The event was attended by the head of the Federal tourism Agency Oleg Safonov, General Director of TV channel “Spas” Boris korchevnikov, the presenters Anton and Victoria Makarska, Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Agency for tourism Dmitry Davydenko, the author of the cultural route “the Shrine of undivided Christianity” Miguel Palacio, Director of the Department of economic development of the Kostroma region Alexander Svistunov, the Minister of tourism of the Tver region Ivan Egorov and the head of the pilgrim service “the Path” Nerekhta, and Kostroma Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Olga Plyusnina.
The project “Shrines of Russia” aimed at attracting attention of Russian and foreign tourists situated on the territory of Russia the monuments of religious culture and sites of spiritual heritage, popularization of the Russian Federation as an interesting and attractive travel destinations and educational pilgrimage for Russians and foreign visitors. “This is a very deep project that connects many meanings. Tourism is not only the economy, but also ideology. We want to show the depth, beauty and harmony in Russia to help the Russians and guests of our country to create its complete image.
We will publish the materials of the project “Relics of Russia” on the National tourism portal Russia.Travel, translate them into foreign languages, to use in the marketing and presentation and exhibition events and national tourism offices Visit Russia abroad. This will be one of the most effective ways to attract interest of foreign tourists to the Russian Federation and its opportunities for religious tourism, motivation of tourism to create tourism products based on cultural, historical and religious potential of regions, to formation of package tours on the routes of the “Shrines of Russia”, – said the Head of the Federal tourism Agency Oleg Safonov.
The Chairman of the Public Council under the Federal Agency for tourism Dmitry Davydenko has noted the relevance of the project from the General public.
“We have monitored the perception of the project “Relics of Russia” in society. We see that it will interest a wide range of consumers – from young people to pensioners. The demand for the products of religious tourism there. This means that the business will actively engage in the process, to develop and market the respective tours,” – said Dmitry Davydenko.
In the framework of the project in order to promote tourist routes in Orthodox monasteries and other places of worship by the Federal Agency for tourism together with public Orthodox channel “Spas” in June 2018 was the start of the filming of the eponymous TV show “Shrines of Russia”. The first season of filming takes place in the Vladimir, Vologda, Kaluga, Kostroma, Leningrad, Moscow, Novgorod, Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, Yaroslavl regions, St. Petersburg, Moscow, the Republic of Karelia.
Premiere of the TV show “Shrines of Russia” will take place on TV channel “Spas” on Saturday, October 6, 2018, 20:00. Repeat release – Sunday, October 7, at 9:00.
At the press conference the speakers also spoke about their vision of the value of the project “Relics of Russia”, about the filming, their impressions and emotions from the creation of the program.

The first series of the TV show “Shrines of Russia” will be dedicated to religious tourism in the Pskov, Novgorod, Tver and Kostroma regions. These regions are the focus of historical and architectural monuments and spiritual heritage pravoslavnuiu our country and have a high potential in the development of religious tourism. For example, in the Kostroma region, according to the Director of the regional Department of economic development Alexander Svistunov almost one third of tourist arrivals form the tourists coming to the region to explore the monuments of Orthodox history and culture.
