The head of the Church: Eucharistic unity with the DNC – our happy prospect


No one needs the Ecumenical unity of Churches, the Ukrainians assured the Sviatoslav Shevchuk

There is already an agreement between the “Metropolitan of Kiev” Epiphanius and the Church on the levels of their cooperation, said Svyatoslav Shevchuk.

Eucharistic unity with the ptsu is a good prospect for Greek-Catholics, said the head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk.

“It’s a good happy prospect. Because the whole Christian world, in particular Catholic and Orthodox community, looking for ways to unity. At the universal level dialogue takes place, to the unity of the resume. Shevchuk stressed that this is not about unification, and the unity of faith and Eucharistic communion.

“The Supreme sign of the unity of the Church is the sacrament of the Eucharist. So when it comes to finding ways to restart unity between Christians, it is about the renewal of unity in the faith and, consequently, its expression in liturgical life,” he said.

According to the head of the UGCC, they had already agreed with the “Primate” ptsu “Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine” Epiphanius Dumenko levels of cooperation, including “the development of theological traditions” and petruskova service.

Shevchuk stressed that the process of unification headed by the Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Pope of Rome, and the newly formed Church organization should be actively involved in this process because “no, because we, Ukrainians, need Ecumenical unity of the Churches.
