The agreement signed by President Petro Poroshenko and Patriarch Bartholomew testifies that between them there is no trust, says Archbishop Kliment (Vecherya).

“This agreement testifies that between them there is no trust. Despite the various statements they don’t trust each other, so come up with a different signature in order to obtain what they seek. This document is irrelevant from the point of view of Church canons and from the point of view of secular law,” said the Bishop.

As reported by the SPM, the “Agreement on cooperation and interaction between Ukraine and the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople” the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed at the meeting in Istanbul on 3 November. The press service of the President reported that the agreement on cooperation between Ukraine and Constantinople is an agreement on the establishment of an independent Ukrainian Church. The text of the agreement does not appear either Kiev or Constantinople.
