The Patriarchal vicar of the Moscow diocese, has consecrated the Cathedral of the Transfiguration and St. Nikita Church in suburban Kashira

    

24 Jun 2018 Metropolitan Krutitsky and Kolomensky Yuvenaly performed the rite of great consecration of the Transfiguration Cathedral and St. Nikita Church in the suburban town of Kashira and celebrated the divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated Cathedral of Transfiguration, reports patriarhiei. The revival of the temples of the former Nikitsky monastery was carried out thanks to the activities of the Charity Fund of the Moscow diocese for the restoration of destroyed Holy sites.

Praying at the service were Governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Moscow region M. Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow regional Duma N. Yu. Chaplin, head of the municipal district of Kashira, A. P., Spassky, head of the Odintsovo district, A. R. Ivanov, the head of city district Khimki D. V. Voloshin, abbess of the Holy Trinity Belopesotsky monastery abbess Agnia (Sudarikova), as well as the laity, the workers, the donators of the Church and many pilgrims.

Liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the clergy of the Moscow diocese under the management of priest Sergei Golev.

At the divine Liturgy, Vladyka Yuvenaly had made his consecration students Kolomna Seminary: deacon Maxim Smirnov — presbyter, Daniel Gutov, a deacon.

    

After the service, the Patriarchal vicar of the Moscow diocese appealed to the clergy and congregation with an archpastoral word:

“Dear Andrey, dear brethren archpastors and pastors, dear brothers and sisters!

I am very happy to heartily welcome you in this historic ancient temple after his great blessing! Over the years, our Moscow, figuratively speaking, became the construction site for the restoration and construction of temples after the era of persecution of the Russian Orthodox Church. For several decades there was no prayer, and was speaking the language of the Church, desolation. But today we are going to worship, welcomed the ringing of bells and the main bell was donated to our Governor Vorobyov.

It is a symbol, brothers and sisters, because the last time we built tens of churches, and in 2014 the blessing of his Holiness Patriarch Kirill we, along with our Governor established a Charity Fund for the restoration of destroyed Holy sites. And it was, I think, a little time, but we dedicate today is the seventh temple, which was in ruins, and about two dozen churches are preparing for the great consecration. We thank the Lord for this happy beginning! Do not be surprised that I say this, because more than two hundred temples in the vast Moscow region is located in the state of ruin is our ancient Holy places! And I hope that we, along with our Governor, who is the co-chair of our Fund, we can, as the Lord will show us, to pursue this matter further, until all the temples we with you, dear Andrey, do not restore. And for this we need the help of God, your prayers, dear brothers and sisters. And I think that the Lord will help us to fulfill our good hopes, prayers and wishes.

To commemorate today’s holiday, I asked the Abbot to accept that the book of the Gospels for liturgical use in the Holy temple.

Dear Andrey! On behalf of all the assembled worshipers, I would like as a farewell prayer to teach You the icon of the Transfiguration in memory of the fact that today we have consecrated this Transfiguration Cathedral. I want the Lord in all ways of Your life helped You and kept You for many years!”

With a salutatory word to participants addressed the Governor of Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov. “We dedicate one of the temples, which regained life through active, engaged position a huge number of people and, first and foremost, our Lord. Today we can open those churches which have long been destroyed, was under lock and key. I very much hope that Your further work on the reconstruction of destroyed churches, dear Lord, will always be the powerful, caring people who live in these small towns, but obviously want the temples were filled with beauty and content and, of course, the inhabitants of these places”, — said the head of the region. In the gift of the rector Andrei Vorobyov gave an icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

After the divine Liturgy, the Patriarchal vicar and the Governor of Moscow region has inspected the renovated building of the Nikitsky temple, completely reconstructed from the ruins of the bell tower and the temple attached to the convent refectory.

Then in the building of the Nikitsky Church Metropolitan Juvenaly presented the General Church and the diocesan award of work in restoring the temples of the former Nikitsky monastery.
