The Ukrainian state will not be the official state religion, but there is and will be true religious freedom, said Petro Poroshenko.
In the Ukraine there is no state Church, said the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Facebook.
However, he once again reminded that believers supposedly waited several centuries the establishment of the PCU and only thanks to the solidarity of the clergy, the Poroshenko Government, parliamentarians and the common people is the landmark event possible.
The head of state added that Ukraine kept and always kept true religious freedom.
“I stress that we have no state Church. But there is real religious freedom that we all cherish. With all the diversity we unite Ukraine and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ,” wrote the President.
Previously confident in the existence in the state “true religious freedom” Poroshenko said that “representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church must leave Ukraine”, because they are in the Ukrainian government have nothing to do.

According to the President, the bill will help the Ukrainians to better realize the right to freedom of religion and will facilitate the process of people’s making a decision which Church to belong to. “Either the newly created Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine, either to the Church, which insists on maintaining its relationship and dependence on the ROC,” explained Poroshenko.
The representative of the party “Block of Petro Poroshenko” the people’s Deputy of Ukraine Oksana Bilozir explained that the bill No. 5309 the need to legally record that the UOC is no longer neither in Ukraine nor in nature.
