On Saturday before the Nativity of Christ, January 5, father John made a festive divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Nicholas in the city of Saida (the ancient Sidon Evangelical), which prayed the Abbot of the temple Archpriest Joseph Khoury. Also the service was visited and blessed all those present, the representative of the Patriarchate of Antioch, Metropolitan Elias of tyre and Sidon. During the Liturgy, kneeling prayers for peace in Ukraine and raised request for the unity of the Church.
After the dismissal of the divine Liturgy of the Ukrainian priest gave to the countrymen of the blessing and greetings of his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, reading out his Christmas message and giving the audience the icon of St. Apostle Andrew the first-called and St. equal to the apostles Prince Vladimir, with the blessing of the Primate. After the service father John talked to the parishioners about the significance of the birth of the infant Jesus Christ for the Orthodox Christian, the essence of life in peace and love with all, the unity of the Church. Also the priest answered numerous questions regarding family life, spirituality and life of the Church that bother compatriots.
In the eve of Christmas, January 6, the priest of the UOC celebrated the divine Liturgy in Beirut at the Church in honor of St. John the Baptist. During the Liturgy was prayed for peace in Ukraine and proclaiming a petition for the unity of the Church. After the service father John also met with parishioners and answered their questions.
On the day of the Nativity of Christ, January 7, in the same Apostolic temple priest John made a festive divine Liturgy, co-served by Archpriest Gerasim – the parish in honor of the Holy prophet of God Elias of Beirut, the Patriarchate of Antioch. After the service in the parish hall at the Church young parishioners congratulated all a merry Christmas, showing Christmas Nativity scene.
January 9, Wednesday, with the blessing of Metropolitan Ephrem of Tripoli, FR John celebrates divine Liturgy in the Cathedral in honor of St. George in Tripoli (Antioch Patriarchate). At the divine Liturgy prayed by the clergy of the Cathedral and the representatives of the Ukrainian Diaspora living in the North of Lebanon.
January 10, Thursday, the priest John różycki visited the Maronite Patriarchate in Beirut, where he met with the Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and all the East Becharay Boutros cardinal ar-Rai.
As reported by PWC, informed the Orthodox party in Lebanon, “al-Mashreq” supported the decision of the Russian Orthodox Church to break off relations with the Patriarchate of Constantinople, refused to recognize “the Patriarchate, which receives instructions from the outside with the aim of breaking up the Orthodox Church.”
