The clergy of the diocese of Rivne of the UOC once again donated blood for children with cancer, the correspondent of the SPM.
July 9, thirty priests from the region have become blood donors to children undergoing complex treatment in the Oncology Department at the Rivne regional hospital. In the last three years blood by the clergy of the diocese of Rivne of the UOC has become a tradition. This time joined even Dubenskiy Bishop Pimen.
“Priests of the donor in the Rivne regional station of blood transfusion greeted warmly, moreover, due to frequent donation, we have already had requests for urgent blood donation, when it is someone essential, – said Archpriest Vasil Nachev, head of the social Department at the Rivne diocese of the UOC. The blood, which today shared a priest, will be stored at the blood Bank and it will be used for needy children with cancer”.
In the social Department at the Rivne diocese are planning to create a Bank of blood donors, which will include not only priests but also the laity. It will, says father Basil Nachev, to respond quickly to an urgent need for blood.
