The Primate of the Czech Church: We will always support fraternal Ukrainian Orthodox Church

    

Orthodox Church of the Czech lands and Slovakia has always supported and will support the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was said by his Beatitude Rostislav, Metropolitan of the Czech lands and Slovakia, at a meeting with the Bishop Baryshevskii Victor in Presov, Slovakia, 10 November 2018, according to the portal “Orthodox life” with reference to Information and education Department of the UOC.

“We are very worried about the brotherly Ukrainian Orthodox Church. We are with you in prayer, we support and will support the Ukrainian Orthodox Church headed by his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry. We don’t say “your Ukrainian people”, but say “our people” because we are one in Christ and belong to the one Catholic and Apostolic Church. Pray, believe and hope for a wise solution of the whole Ecumenical Orthodoxy in connection with the Church situation in Ukraine”, – said the Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech lands and Slovakia.

As history shows, added his Beatitude Rostislav, never state intervention and policy in the Affairs of the Church were not successful, because it is impossible to build even a temporary benefit in violation of the Holy canons of the Orthodox Church.

Baryshevsky Bishop Victor, head of the Representative office of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at European international organizations, arrived in Slovakia with the blessing of his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onuphrius and the invitation of the Archbishop of St. Michael and of the Košice George.

His Beatitude Rostislav Bishop Victor gave heartfelt congratulations and words of brotherly support from his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, spoke about peacekeeping and the socio-humanitarian activities of the UOC, as well as on the latest developments in Church life and the official position of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on them.
