His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry said that thank God the person who holds the gift of eternal salvation.

Faith is the basis of salvation, which God gives to man. On December 23 told his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onufry during a Sunday sermon at the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, according to Information-enlightenment Department of the UOC.

The Primate revealed evangelskoy stories about the Savior healing the 10 lepers men (LK. 17: to 12.19) and stressed that it teaches us to humble ourselves and thank God for everything.

“The only thing God wants from us when we receive His gift, so we were grateful,” – said the Primate, and added that gratitude for God’s gifts need not to Him but to us.

“When a person thanks God for what one gets, makes himself able to accommodate more gifts, – said Metropolitan Onufry. – And if we don’t thank God, they become not worthy of what you have. Therefore, the Lord wants us to be grateful. This will make us more wealthy. … Thank God man is able to hold the great gift of eternal salvation.”

The Primate advised every day not to ask for something from God and to complain, but to thank Him for all morning and evening.

“Morning, crossed himself and said, “Thank You, Lord, for that Thou hast accounted me worthy to see another day.” And when you fall back to sleep, I must say: “Glory to You, Lord, for that Thou hast accounted me worthy to live another day and forgive me my sins that I have created for this day,” said the Archbishop.

Metropolitan Onufry noticed that the healed leper, the Savior has not appropriated the glory, and said, “Arise, go: your faith has saved you.” (LK. 17: 19). As noted by the Primate, the Lord reminded us that “faith is the basis of salvation that God gives man” and that is very important to be humble.

Earlier his Beatitude Onufry told that pride is a spiritual leprosy to humans.
