According to Bishop Onuphrius, today we are approaching Christmas, and now honor the memory of those forefathers who gave us the shadow of Christ the prophet Daniel, Holy youths of Azariah, Hananiah and Mishael. Metropolitan Onufry described the deeds of these saints and drew particular attention to one of the first prophecies of the Holy prophet Daniel about the coming of Christ to the world.
In particular, the prophet Daniel explained to king Nebuchadnezzar his strange dream about the idol of gold and silver. “The meaning of your dream is. The head of gold is you, the king, your mighty Kingdom, silver hands – a king who will come after you, he will not be as powerful as you. Further, the copper Kingdom, then the Kingdom of iron, then the Kingdom, like iron and clay … a stone was cut out, and struck the statue is the Christ Who will come to earth and destroy all the kingdoms of the earth that will bring the Kingdom eternal”, – cited the words of the prophet Primate.
His Beatitude Onufry reminded of the coming of Christ into the world and about God’s judgment and wished to live on earth justly, and love to celebrate the holiday of Christmas.
Earlier, Metropolitan Onufry in his report on the meeting of the clergy of the Kiev diocese noted that our defense is love in response to hatred.
