His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry

In Kiev, Metropolitan Onufry divine Liturgy on the feast day of the Nativity of the blessed virgin.

September 21, his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine Onufry celebrated the divine Liturgy in the Academic Church of the Nativity of the virgin, according to the Information Department of the UOC.

Before the service, the Primate met the bishops, clergy, pupils, students and members of the Academic Church of the Kyiv theological schools.

Concelebrating were the Deputy kiyevo-Pechersky monastery the Metropolitan Vyshgorodsky and Chernobyl Paul, Chancellor of the UOC Metropolitan of Boryspil and Brovary Antoniy, Archbishop of boyar Theodosius, Bishop of Baryshevsky Victor, rector of the Kyiv theological schools Bishop belogorodskaya Sylvester, as well as teachers and students of the Kyiv theological schools in Holy orders.

After the reading of the gospel with a sermon to the congregation this day in the temple asked the teacher of ktha & s Archimandrite Damascene (Swan).

At the end of the service before the icon of the Nativity of the blessed virgin Mary, the clergy performed the rite of glorification.

After the dismissal of his Beatitude Onufry congratulated the flock on the occasion and explained to the faithful the meaning of the event which the Church celebrates on September 21.

“The feast of the Nativity of the Mother of God is a feast of joy, because Christmas is the Mother of God expresses the joy of the whole universe. Through It came to earth the Son of God Who took upon himself human nature, sanctified, and saved her. We thank God for His mercy to us, and I ask the virgin mistress, so She guided us with Their Holy prayers and helped us overcome the difficulties we meet with earthly pilgrimage to Her prayers we become gods,” – said the Primate of the UOC.

Earlier, the Hierarch said that the person who incorrectly applies their talents and not develop them, becoming a “dumb creature.”
