Late in the evening of 29 August 2018, the ark with the right hand of St. Spyridon arrived in Yekaterinburg, the press service of the Yekaterinburg diocese. In the “Koltsovo” airport by special flight delivered a great Christian Shrine perechodnogo of the Holy Hierarch of Christ and Wonderworker Spyridon.
The relics of the Saint was met by the clergy of the Ekaterinburg Archdiocese, headed by Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Kirill and representatives of the regional authorities: the Chairman of the regional Legislative Assembly Lyudmila Babushkina V., first Deputy of the Governor of Sverdlovsk area Alexey V. Orlov, regional Commissioner for human rights Tatyana Merzlyakova G., first Deputy head of the regional administration Vadim Rudolfovich Dubichev and others.
A solemn meeting was held under the chimes of the mobile belfry of the Church of “the Big Chrysostom”. Before the Shrine was made a short prayer, sounded troparion and exaltation to the great God-pleaser.
Then all greeters kissed the hand, each received as a gift an icon of St. Spyridon with the blessing of his Holiness Patriarch of all Russia. That icon will receive all who will come to the Temple on the Blood to the Shrine.
