The Primate Of The Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Irinej.
The Serbian Church does not know any other Orthodox Church in Ukraine, in addition to the canonical UOC, headed by its Primate – his Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry.
The actions of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Ukraine are null and void and without force to the Serbian Orthodox Church, said Patriarch Irinej in an interview Sunday the Serbian newspaper “Politika”.
“Neither Serbian nor other Orthodox Churches do not accept the emergence of certain “Orthodox Pope”, but if they do – will cease to be Orthodox” – said the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The Archbishop reminded that the Serbian Orthodox Church is not for any of the parties, but only for the observance of the sacred canons and their centuries-old established order.
“SPC does not accept and will not accept the legalization of the schism in Ukraine as a legitimate state of Affairs, especially when such ambitions will appear on her canonical territory, – said his Holiness Patriarch Irinej. – The fact that Constantinople was made in Kiev, mother of Russian cities, the Serbian Church has no power, is negligible”.
“Ukraine has a canonical Church, which has its lawful Primate, Metropolitan Onufriy. Other we do not know and will not know”, – concluded the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Earlier, Patriarch Irinej, has repeatedly said that to solve the Church question in Ukraine can only be a Cathedral of representatives of all local Orthodox Churches. In his Christmas message of bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church noted that policy with the participation of Fanara deepened the schism in Ukraine, and reminded that autocephaly is an exclusively religious institution that should contribute to the development and strengthening of unity among the local Orthodox churches.
