The Serbian President called on spiritual leaders to help protect Orthodox shrines in Kosovo

    

The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic at the Congress of world and traditional religions in Astana called on spiritual leaders to help in the protection of Orthodox monasteries and churches in Kosovo, reports Interfax-Religion.

“We appeal to all of you, religious leaders, to help us to protect monasteries and Orthodox churches in Kosovo, which are always threatened by those who do not believe in the civilizational and cultural heritage,” said Aleksandar vučić.

He noted that Serbia is a democratic country “not only for organizations, but first and foremost, on the basis of their culture.”

“All religious communities, all religions are free to preach their religion and equal. We have respect for religious and ethnic minorities in the country, they are the welfare of our country,” said Aleksandar vučić.
