The Deputy head of the DECR of the UOC Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich

Archpriest Mykolai Danylevych noted that the adoption of act No. 5309 in Ukraine is actually appointed enemies.

Change the name of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church “the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine” – is essentially the same yellow star for Jews in Germany during the Holocaust. This view was expressed by 23 December, the Deputy head of the DECR of the UOC Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich on his page in Facebook.

According to him, the bill No. 5309 artificially makes a huge number of citizens of Ukraine, foreigners, enemies to their country, confronting them with other parts of society.

“I am the law No. 5309 of renaming UOC reminiscent of the yellow stars, which were labeled in Nazi Germany the Jews in the 1930-ies, – said father Nikolai. – First labeled, and then remember how it ended.<…> German society also then basically approve of these actions, as well as today. Thank God, not all. Not immediately, the Germans, the Nazis began. So here, you need to appoint representatives of the aggressor and responsible for all ills in the state. First, we will mark their name! But don’t worry – pray, exist, we will not touch you, – kind and culturally, say proponents of the law and various experts. In the meantime.”

The Deputy head of the DECR stressed that the radicalism in the country if not growing, then holds the top position.

“The media has shaped the image of the enemy of religious freedom, now form this way by law. Interestingly, our society realizes what we can come up with such laws?” concludes Archpriest Nikolai.

22 December 2018 Petro Poroshenko has signed anti-Catholic bill No. 5309, which obliges the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to change its name as of the Church, “the control center which is located in the country-aggressor” and become a “Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine.” According to experts, thus the authorities intend to provoke religious clashes in the acute form.
