Trump is threatening Turkey with sanctions for the trial of Andrew Branson

The President of the United States Donald trump is threatening Turkey with sanctions for the arrest and trial of an American pastor Andrew Branson. Trump says that Branson was suffering, and that he should let go immediately.

“By presidential decree, the Ministry of Finance has imposed sanctions against the Ministers of justice and internal Affairs of Turkey, who played a key role in the arrest and the detention of pastor Brunson,” explains the press Secretary of the White house Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Brunson was arrested in 2016. He was accused of having links with the failed coup, but he rejects these accusations. The Turkish court refused the appeal on transfer under house arrest.

Meanwhile, American pastors warn their congregations that they did not go to Turkey. In reference to NPR the Reverend johnny Moore said, “If Turkey is unsafe for Branson, it’s not safe for us.”
