Vladimir Putin took part in celebrations on the occasion of the 1030-th anniversary of the baptism of Rus, reports the website “President of Russia”.

The Patriarchal Liturgy held at the Cathedral square of the Kremlin under the open sky. After the service the head of state joined the procession with the cross and together with the believers went to Borovitskaya square to the monument to Prince Vladimir.

    

The procession was also the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, the Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Theodore, presidential Plenipotentiary envoy to the Central Federal district Igor Shchegolev, the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.

    

At the monument to Prince Vladimir was held a festive prayer service, which was attended by representatives of the local Orthodox churches of Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem, Georgian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Cypriot, Albanian, Polish, and Orthodox Church of the Czech lands and Slovakia.
