Why would I want the sky without You?

We were preparing for our Christian children’s camp. Sat circle, there was a discussion. All the guys are good, kind, creative. All the believers. The moderator posed the question: “What do you want to get to Heaven? And, in General, what are your dreams related to the Sky?” Wow! And we began to dream out loud… Wanted is not unfounded, but based on what the Bible says about the Kingdom of God.

We live four together in a small room. I dream of the day when the Lord will show me the new house, which He cooked specially for me — this house, which I even could not dream.

The Bible: “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that you also may be where I am” (John 14:2, 3). “No eye has seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for them that love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

— I want to meet my guardian angel. He knows everything about me! Finally we will meet!

The Bible: “Behold, do not despise one of these little ones; for I say unto you that in heaven their Angels do always behold the face of My Father in Heaven” (Matthew 18:10).

— I dream to sing in the heavenly choir! If here on earth, music can be so beautiful, what will be there when thousands of voices unite in praise?!

Bible: “And I saw as though a sea of glass mingled with fire; and the victory of the beast and his image, and his mark and the number of his name standing on that sea of glass, holding harps of God and sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the lamb, saying, great and marvelous are Thy works, Lord God Almighty! Righteous and true are Thy ways, thou King of saints!” (Revelation 15:2, 3).

One very dear person to me passed away. I dream of meeting him…

Bible: “Because the Lord Himself with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel and with the trumpet of God will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall gather together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and forever be with the Lord. So comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).

It came to me: “I’m so tired can’t see straight. I dream to see the beautiful world with healthy eyes”.

Bible: “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not be already; neither crying, nor cry, illnesses any more will not be, for former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

And my dream is to cuddle lion. A long time dream.

Bible: “the Wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion like the ox shall eat straw, and dust shall be the serpent’s food: they shall not hurt nor destroy in all My Holy mountain, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 65:25).

Now I had to speak to my husband. He is inspired by the lion, he decided to go ahead and think about the huge bear. He wanted to cuddle the bear.

Completed the round Ruslan, humble lad: “And I dream about meeting with Jesus. I want to run to Him, hug him and say, “Lord, finally we met! I’ve been waiting for this day! Thank You for everything!””

These words were for me and all the audience is like the tub of cold water. We dreamed of Heaven…without God. Of course, He was behind everything beautiful, what we talked about, but we did not dream of It!

A sudden realization that struck us to the core. We had much to ponder. Jesus is preparing heaven for His friends, even for those who were once His enemies. And friendship is serious. Friendship implies a deep relationship.
Our dreams were consumer. God needs us not because He’s our Friend, but because He is beneficial to us: can give living space, to restore sight, to travel to distant galaxies…

I tried to imagine the relations in the family where the person is only needed because it can provide everything you need, to help out in a difficult moment, to fulfill dreams, but where no one cares about his inner world, desires and dreams. It was sad, because that’s what we often do with God. We are saving It for a special time (when the thunder clap), live, breathe and exist because of His mercy, but do not appreciate it taking for granted.

Many probably think that God is quite satisfied, saying that He and God, He has a job. But God, first and foremost, a Person. Not the face, mind, and Personality. It will not clean into the far corner. It is still there! He still feels loves and rejoices, suffers and is grieved. He wants a relationship with man. Just think: God wants to be your close friend, always and everywhere. Yeah, He left there and lions, and bears, and a lot of meetings after a long separation, and the city of gold, but it is sad when the gifts more desirable than the Giver. Think about it, reader. Perhaps now is the time to kneel and in silence to repent before The one Who loves us so much, but Whom we so often neglect. To repent and finally start to build relations — the most important in the life of the relationship.

King David urged: “Seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face always” (Psalm 104:4). Both lovers seem to want to see each other, and we have to look forward to joyful fellowship with God. Then the Lord will say of us as He once said of David: “I have Found a man after My own heart, David the son of Jesse, which shall fulfill all My will” (Acts 13:22).

And Yes sounded in our address are the saddest of possible words: “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23). He didn’t know? We didn’t know Him, wouldn’t, didn’t bother to find out!

Let the Sky be our ultimate dream! And let attracts us with the greatest jewel of heaven, the Saviour Christ, our good God and best Friend.

And… thanks to Ruslan for the lesson. We remember!

While writing this article, eight-year-old daughter shared with me this story. Her girlfriend during the game suddenly says: “I Want to fall and die.” All: “You what?! Why?!” And she says, “Then I will go to heaven and everything is possible. I finally painted the lips purple, and the top has a glitter cover. I will walk on high heels and do whatever you want. And no mother would forbid it!” I just imagined Paradise with seven girls in high heels and with a purple lip, and I was not myself. But this girl somewhere had learned their ideas about heaven… if Not from us, adults? Heaven is the place where the friends of Jesus.

Get to know God for yourself and share with Him their children to day events to meet God not as a strict Judge, but as a welcome Friend. “I will see you again and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you” (John 16:22).
